The memorandum of understanding entered into between the Democratic Republic of East Timor and ENSUL MECI creates the necessary foundations to build a multidisciplinary and phased project to create an exemplary centre of excellence in the city of Díli, providing the capital city with a manifold space for housing, offices, services, hotels and social facilities, which will contribute to the city's urban, economic, social and environmental recovery.
The signing ceremony took place on 27 November and was attended by the Prime Minister of East Timor, Xanana Gusmão, representatives of the Timorese government, the President of the Esphera Group, António Couto, and the management of group companies.
ENSUL MECI has a vast portfolio of projects carried out in Timor. Currently, the project for the construction of the Maternity School in Díli and the Lahane Palace is underway. In Timor, the company also carried out projects such as the Portuguese School in Díli, the renovation of the head office of Timor Gap, where the Timor Sea Designated Authority has its offices, the renovation of the Uma Fukun Cultural Centre, an emblematic building of Díli, the Headquarters and Nursery of Santa Casa da Misericórdia of Díli, the Curia of Díli, etc.
